The institute aims to foster innovation in AI, robotics, and cybernetics, promoting advanced research, industry collaboration, and global partnerships to drive technological advancements and digital transformation.
A dedicated Institute of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Cybernetics has been established on the NIMS University campus in Rajasthan through a partnership between NIMS University and a European university.
This institute is part of an agreement between NIMS University and the Rajasthan government under the Rising Rajasthan project, and it is scheduled for inauguration on April 1, 2025.
The event aims to bring together academicians, industry leaders, and international AI experts.
The institute will feature "state-of-the-art labs," including the Robotics Lab by KUKA (Germany), the Automation Lab by Siemens (Germany), the Drone Technology Lab by Captics (Canada), and the Computing and AI Chip Lab by N-Video.
It will also have partnerships with Siemens Healthineers, Dell, Microsoft, SAP, HP, Intel, and Amazon, along with more than 500 high-performance computer systems.
In collaboration with the European Union, the institute is promoting AI and cybersecurity research as the Indo-Pacific European Hub for Digital Partnership (INPACE).
This recognition, presented in front of the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, underscores India's growing prominence in digital innovation.
Alongside the launch, the international AI conference, NIMS-AICON 2025, will take place from April 1–3 in collaboration with Czech Technical University, Prague.
The conference, themed "Transforming India's Future through AI-led Innovation," will explore the impact of AI on emerging technologies, healthcare, and industries.
The conference will focus on several key themes, including the role of industrial AI in optimizing manufacturing and supply chains, as well as its life-saving applications in healthcare.
Additionally, the event will explore emerging AI trends, highlighting advancements in robotics, deep learning, and the future potential of AI.
According to Professor Dr Balvir Singh Tomar, Chairman of NIMS University, this initiative will establish Rajasthan as a global center for artificial intelligence.
"As we integrate AI into every aspect of our lives, it is crucial that we approach this integration in a planned manner. This conference serves as a platform where innovation, leadership, and research converge to create effective solutions for the world’s current challenges. The future of AI is limitless, and this event marks an important step toward an AI-driven future that benefits everyone," said Tomar.
