The newly launched Dr DVR Sainik School in Bapatla aims to promote discipline-driven learning, honor India’s armed forces, and expand the Daggubati family's long-standing educational mission.
The newly established Dr DVR Sainik School in the Bapatla district was officially inaugurated by Andhra Pradesh HRD and IT Minister Nara Lokesh.
Set up under the guidance of former minister Daggubati Venkateswara Rao, the school reflects the Daggubati family’s long-standing commitment to education in the region.
Lokesh, accompanied by school secretary and correspondent Hitesh Chenchuram, inaugurated key campus facilities, including the main academic block, computer and science laboratories, separate hostels for boys and girls, a mess, and a canteen.
The event also featured the unveiling of statues honoring education pioneers Daggubati Chenchuramayya and Daggubati Neelamohan.
Addressing the audience, Lokesh stressed the importance of education in transforming lives and communities.
“This school carries forward the vision of Daggubati Chenchuramayya, whose efforts in the 1980s laid a strong foundation for accessible education,” he said.
He commended the Daggubati family—Purandeswari, Hitesh, and Nivedita—for their efforts in establishing institutions that offer education from kindergarten to postgraduate levels.
Drawing on his own political journey, Lokesh encouraged students to remain determined in the face of setbacks.
“I lost once but came back with one of the biggest margins in the state. Failure should not discourage anyone,” he said.
He also spoke about the role of teachers, calling them guiding forces who deserve respect, and urged students to start each day with blessings from their mothers.
Highlighting the institution’s military-oriented curriculum, Lokesh noted its role in honoring the nation’s defense personnel.
“This Sainik School is a tribute to our armed forces and their sacrifices,” he said.
He further emphasized the state’s ongoing educational reforms and said Andhra Pradesh is progressing toward becoming a model state in public education.
