Candidates can change their exam city preferences between May 15 and 21, while admit cards for the nationwide pen-and-paper re-examination will be issued on June 14.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the NEET UG 2026 re-test will be conducted on June 21 following the cancellation of the earlier examination amid the paper leak controversy.
The medical entrance test will be held in pen-and-paper mode at centers across India and abroad from 2 pm to 5:15 pm, with candidates receiving an additional 15 minutes to complete the paper.

Students who want to change their preferred exam city for the re-examination can update their choice through the official website, neet.nta.nic.in, between May 15 and May 21, 2026.
Candidates who do not make any changes during this period will retain their previously selected city preference for the examination.
Addressing the issue during a press conference on May 15, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that admit cards for the NEET UG 2026 re-exam would be released by June 14.
He also said earlier that the re-test would be conducted free of cost and that candidates would receive refunds for the examination fees paid for the canceled test.
This year, nearly 22.79 lakh candidates have registered for NEET UG 2026. Once the admit cards are released on the official website, candidates will be able to access details related to their examination centers and other important instructions through the hall tickets.
Earlier, on May 12, the NTA announced the cancellation of the NEET UG 2026 examination that had been conducted on May 3, after receiving approval from the Government of India.
