The funding will expand IIM Raipur’s student capacity, launch global MBA programs, and establish NIT Raipur’s advanced innovation center, driving skill development, start-up growth, and job creation in Chhattisgarh’s key industries.
IIM Raipur and NIT Raipur will receive a combined ₹172 crore from the Motilal Oswal Foundation to boost infrastructure, global education programs, and technology-driven innovation initiatives.
IIM Raipur has been allotted ₹101 crore for constructing the Agrawal Oswal Student Residence, a 202-room hostel, and the Dau Ram Gopal Agrawal Knowledge Centre, named after Raamdeo Agrawal’s late father.
The expansion will raise the institute’s capacity from 500 to 1,200 students by 2030 and support the launch of six international dual-degree MBA programs with universities in the USA, UK, France, and Germany.
NIT Raipur will receive ₹71 crore to establish the Mithilesh Agrawal Centre of Excellence for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Engineering and Technology, named in honor of Agrawal’s late mother.
Set up in collaboration with the Chhattisgarh government, the center will have advanced labs in AI, robotics, blockchain, IoT, and clean energy, alongside facilities for prototyping, start-up incubation, and skill training.
The initiative aims to train more than 10,000 youth, support over 250 start-ups, and generate 5,000 skilled jobs by 2030, focusing on core state industries such as mining, iron, and steel.
Construction of both projects will begin in the 2025-26 financial year, with completion expected by 2027-28.
The Motilal Oswal Foundation said the initiative aligns with the national vision of Viksit Bharat @2047 by enhancing access to global education, skill-building, and entrepreneurship opportunities for India’s youth.
