The inauguration took place at the School Education Complex Conference Hall in Lunglei, where several new education projects were unveiled with support from the deputy commissioner’s office and the district school education department.

As part of the program, bicycles were distributed to out-of-school children under the Learning Bridges initiative, book sets were provided through the Book Nest scheme, and selected schools received science laboratory equipment to enhance practical learning.

In his address, Minister Vanlalthlana said these projects align with the National Education Policy 2020 and reflect the government’s commitment to quality, inclusive, and equitable education.

Deputy Commissioner Navneet Mann described the initiatives as part of a holistic education model that integrates science, language, health, financial literacy, and life skills.

She emphasized the importance of community involvement to sustain the projects and maximize their impact.

With the launch of cosmic classrooms and astronomy labs, Lunglei district has become the first in Mizoram to take this step.

Officials said the effort is designed to ensure no child is left behind while preparing students to become confident, responsible, and well-informed citizens.
