JEE Advanced 2026 result out, JoSAA counseling begins June 2

Qualified candidates can access scorecards online, while architecture aspirants can register for AAT 2026 as the IIT admission process moves to seat allocation and counseling.

JEE Advanced 2026 result out, JoSAA counseling begins June 2

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has announced the results of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2026.

Candidates who appeared for the examination can access their scorecards through the official JEE Advanced website.

A total of 187,389 candidates registered for JEE Advanced 2026, while 179,694 appeared for both Paper 1 and Paper 2, conducted on May 17. Of the candidates who appeared for the examination, 56,880 qualified, including 10,107 female candidates.

Top Rankers in JEE Advanced 2026

Shubham Kumar from the IIT Delhi zone secured All India Rank (AIR) 1 in JEE Advanced 2026. He scored 330 out of 360 marks and had earlier secured AIR 6 in JEE Main 2026.

Kabir Chhillar and Jatain Chahar, both from the IIT Delhi zone, secured the second and third ranks, respectively, giving the zone a strong presence among the top performers.

Alongside the overall topper, Arohi Deshpande emerged as the female topper in this year's examination.

Examination Conducted in Two Shifts

The JEE Advanced 2026 examination was conducted on May 17 in two sessions. Paper 1 was held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., while Paper 2 took place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

How to Check JEE Advanced 2026 Results

Candidates can download their scorecards by following these steps:

Step 1: Visit the official JEE Advanced website.

Step 2: Click on the "JEE Advanced Results 2026" link available on the homepage.

Step 3: Enter the required login credentials:
• Roll Number
• Date of Birth
• Registered Mobile Number

Step 4: Click on the "Submit" button.

Step 5: Your JEE Advanced 2026 result and scorecard will be displayed on the screen.

Step 6: Download the scorecard and save a copy for future reference.

Gateway to IIT Admissions

JEE Advanced serves as the entrance examination for admission to undergraduate programs offered by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

Candidates who have qualified are now eligible to participate in the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counseling process for admission to IITs and other participating institutions.

JoSAA Counseling 2026 Begins June 2

The JoSAA Counseling 2026 process will begin on June 2. Eligible candidates must register on the official JoSAA portal and submit their preferred choices of institutes and courses.

Seat allotment will be conducted across multiple rounds based on factors such as rank, category, seat availability, and candidate preferences.

Admissions through JoSAA cover seats in IITs, National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and Government-Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs).

Candidates seeking admission through JoSAA must complete the registration and choice-filling process within the prescribed timeline.

Applicants are also advised to keep academic documents, category certificates, and other required credentials ready for verification and admission procedures.

AAT 2026 Registration Opens

Candidates interested in Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) programs offered by IITs must appear for the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) 2026.

According to the official schedule, AAT registration is open from June 1, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. IST until June 2, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. IST. Eligible candidates can register through the JEE Advanced Candidate Portal.

Only candidates who have qualified JEE Advanced 2026 are eligible to apply for AAT, which is required for admission to architecture programs offered by select IITs.

JEE Advanced 2026 Cutoff Released

IIT Roorkee has also released the JEE Advanced 2026 cutoff along with the results. The cutoff determines the minimum marks required for candidates to be included in the rank list and become eligible for the IIT admission process through JoSAA counseling.

Candidates must satisfy both subject-wise minimum marks and aggregate qualifying marks to secure a place in the respective rank lists.

According to the official cutoff data, candidates in the Common Rank List (CRL) category must obtain at least 8 marks in each subject and 92 aggregate marks to qualify for the IIT rank list.

Minimum Percentage Requirement for Rank Lists

The authorities have also announced the minimum percentage criteria for inclusion in various rank lists. For the CRL category, candidates must secure at least 7.30% marks in each subject and 25.56% aggregate marks.
