The new Centre of Excellence at JMI aims to provide students with industry-aligned, future-ready technical education, enhancing their professional skills and preparing them for evolving job market demands.
Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) inaugurated its new Centre of Excellence for Professional Skill Development at the University Polytechnic on April 8.
The facility, aimed at providing industry-aligned and future-ready technical education, was opened by Vice Chancellor Prof Mazhar Asif.
The university is set to close the online application window for the 2025 admission cycle on April 10, 2025.
Interested candidates can apply for undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including BTech and BArch, through the official portal at admission.jmi.ac.in.
This year, admissions to 25 programs, including nine undergraduate, five postgraduate, eight diploma, and three advanced diploma courses, will be based on CUET scores.
Additionally, JMI will conduct entrance tests for 29 programs in nine cities across India, reducing the need for travel to Delhi.
The university has introduced 14 new courses this academic year, spanning areas like design, computer science, fine arts, and certificate-level offerings.
JMI has also revised application fees for foreign and NRI applicants and introduced remote PhD interviews for international candidates.
The event also saw the participation of Prof Mohammad Mahtab Alam Rizvi, Registrar, JMI; Prof Mini Shaji Thomas, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering & Technology; and Sundresan Narayanan, Managing Director of Carrier Air-conditioning Ltd.
