India and Nepal have signed agreements for 10 high-impact community development projects aimed at enhancing education, healthcare, and cultural facilities across Nepal, funded by India’s grant assistance of NPR 625 million.
The Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration of the Government of Nepal, the Embassy of India in Kathmandu, and the Government of Nepal's Project Implementing Agencies signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) on April 1 to carry out 10 High Impact Community Development Projects (HICDPs) in Nepal.
A statement from the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu said that the projects, which have a combined cost of NPR 625 million and are intended to improve the education, health, and culture sectors, are being supported by grant assistance from the Government of India.
The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu highlighted the 10 high-impact community development projects being implemented across Nepal.

These projects will be executed through local authorities of the Government of Nepal, including metropolitan cities, sub-metropolitan cities, municipalities, and rural municipalities.
According to the Embassy's statement, the execution of these High Impact Community Development Projects (HICDPs) will contribute to the improvement of Nepal's cultural, medical, and educational infrastructure.
Remarkably, India has undertaken more than 573 High Impact Development Projects (HICDPs) in Nepal since 2003, including the 10 projects whose Memorandums of Understanding were signed.
India has also finished 495 projects at the grassroots level in the fields of education, health, road and bridge construction, river training, drinking water, electrification, irrigation, culture, social welfare, and the establishment of other public utilities in all seven provinces of Nepal.
The other projects are still in progress at various points in time.
