IIM Ahmedabad reported a strong placement season for its Post Graduate Programme in Management (MBA-PGP) Class of 2025, with graduates receiving mean first-year salaries of ₹35.50 lakh and a median of ₹34.59 lakh, according to the institute’s audited placement report prepared under Indian Placement Reporting Standards.

Continuing its “Dream Application” initiative, IIMA allowed students to apply for preferred sectors and roles, recording 154 such applications this year.

Consulting and finance remained the most active sectors. Consulting roles accounted for 154 offers, while Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance contributed 99 offers.

Leading recruiters included Boston Consulting Group with 35 offers, Accenture Strategy with 31, and Bain & Company with 17.

The finance function recorded a 13.7% increase in offers, while strategy roles grew by around 33% compared with the previous year.

The report highlighted participation from 178 companies, offering approximately 261 distinct roles across sectors such as consumer goods, e-commerce, technology, healthcare, and conglomerates.

Over 25 new recruiters joined the campus drive, broadening the range of industries and roles available to students.

IIM Ahmedabad uses Maximum Earning Potential (MEP) to report salaries, focusing on actual first-year cash earnings rather than overall cost-to-company figures.

Domestic MEP ranged from just under ₹17 lakh to ₹1.10 crore, with an average of ₹35.50 lakh. The median fixed cash component for the year was ₹25.31 lakh.

Only two students accepted international roles in Dubai, while the rest of the placements were within India.

One-time joining bonuses added significantly to total guaranteed cash, particularly in consulting and BFSI.

Approximately 59% of the batch were eligible for lateral placements, enabling mid-career opportunities. Lateral recruiters included BrowserStack, Mastercard, Myntra, and Zomato.

Two students chose entrepreneurship under the IlMAvericks Fellowship, which provides mentoring and financial support for startup ventures.

The report underscores strong demand for IIMA graduates across consulting, finance, and emerging management sectors.

The combination of audited reporting, wide recruiter participation, and the Dream Application system has helped maintain high placement standards while giving students transparency and choice in career options.
