Narayana Business School marked Menstrual Hygiene Day with “Period Power Up,” promoting awareness, inclusivity, and open conversations around menstrual health and hygiene.

Ahmedabad, Gujarat — On the occasion of Menstrual Hygiene Day, Narayana Business School (NBS) conducted Period Power Up, a large-scale awareness initiative focused on encouraging open conversations around menstrual health, hygiene, dignity, and inclusivity.
The event was organized in collaboration with Menstrupedia, along with community partners like Stayfree India, CII Indian Women Network (IWN) Gujarat, Tresna Foundation, Sannidhya Maternity & Multispeciality Hospital, PhilComm (philosophy club), SomComm (Social media club), and the Women Development Cell of NBS.

Period Power Up: 100% conversations was a born child of the idea to break long-standing stigma, include men in the conversations and normalize discussions around periods through interactive activities, awareness sessions, and student participation. Through this effort, NBS aimed to create a more informed, empathetic, and supportive environment where menstrual health is treated as an essential part of overall well-being rather than a taboo subject.
Bringing together healthcare experts, social advocates, industry leaders, students, and alumni, the initiative aimed to break long-standing stigma around menstruation and promote a more empathetic and period-friendly society.
The program featured keynote sessions, panel discussions, awareness activities, and interactive conversations that encouraged participants to view menstrual health not as a taboo subject, but as an important social and health conversation.
Distinguished speakers at the event included:

Dr. Amit Gupta, Founder & Director, and Dr. Purvi Gupta, Dean at Narayana Business School, highlighted the importance of creating socially aware and emotionally intelligent future leaders through meaningful collaborations between academia, industry, healthcare, and community organizations.
One of the key highlights of the initiative was a unique social media challenge that encouraged male participants to actively engage in conversations around menstrual health. The activity aimed to build awareness, empathy, and inclusivity by making menstrual health a shared social conversation rather than a topic limited to women alone.

The event also saw active student participation through discussions, engagement activities, and awareness-driven initiatives led by various student bodies and institutional clubs.
Through initiatives like Period Power Up, Narayana Business School continues to promote learning beyond classrooms by encouraging students to engage with important social issues and contribute towards meaningful change in society.

The event concluded with a collective message emphasizing awareness, dignity, empathy, and the need to normalize conversations around menstrual health in everyday life.
