The championship, which took place in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand from March 19 to March 23, witnessed fierce competition among 567 Para Players from approximately 28 States and 4 Union Territories.
Organized by the Badminton Association of India and sponsored by Tata Steel Foundation, the event showcased the remarkable talent and determination of para athletes across the nation. Khalid, along with his partner Shashank Kumar, showcased exceptional skill and resilience throughout the championship, ultimately securing the Silver Medal.

The final match saw Khalid and Kumar engage in a thrilling battle against the reigning national champions, who had maintained their dominance for the past five years. Despite their valiant efforts, Khalid and Kumar narrowly missed the gold medal, losing in a closely contested three-set match with scores of 21-12, 14-21, and 14-21.
This achievement follows Khalid's commendable performance in the 'Khelo India Para Games 2023', where he clinched the bronze medal. Additionally, Khalid recently represented India in the Para Badminton World Championship 2024, showcasing his prowess on the international stage.
Undeterred by this setback, Khalid remains steadfast in his ambition to excel further in para badminton. With his sights set on the upcoming Asian Games and Paralympics, Khalid is determined to bring glory to his country, state, and alma mater, JMI.
A dedicated student pursuing his PhD in Hindi Literature at JMI, Khalid's journey exemplifies resilience and perseverance. Having previously completed his B.Sc. (Hons), MSW, and M.A. in Hindi from JMI, Khalid continues to inspire others with his unwavering commitment to both academics and sports.
As Khalid sets his sights on future competitions, his success serves as a testament to the indomitable spirit of para athletes and highlights the invaluable support provided by institutions like JMI in nurturing talent and fostering excellence.
