Exploring Engineering Options Beyond JEE Main 2024: A Guide to Alternative Entrance Exams and Admission Criteria

A Guide to Alternative Entrance Exams and Admission Criteria

With the National Testing Agency (NTA) declaring the results for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2024 session 2, candidates who may not have achieved their desired outcome or are seeking additional opportunities can explore a range of alternative engineering entrance exams. While some registration deadlines have passed, several notable exams still offer prospective students a chance to pursue their engineering aspirations.

KIITEE 2024

The Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology Entrance Examination (KIITEE) is a gateway to engineering programs at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology. While phase 1 applications have closed, aspiring candidates can still apply for phase 2 until May 30. Phase 3 applications will be open until June 30.

Eligibility criteria include passing 10+2 in 2022, 2023, or appearing in 2024, with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in PCM. Candidates must have been born on or after July 1, 2003, and must have achieved a minimum of 50% marks in physics, chemistry, and mathematics individually.

SRMJEEE 2024

The SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Examination (SRMJEEE) is a university-level exam for admission to various BTech, MTech, and BSc programs across SRM Institute of Science and Technology campuses. Eligible candidates must have a minimum of 60% in Class 10 and Class 12. Indian residents can apply, while Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) require a PIO or OCI card. The deadline for phase 2 registration is June 15.

UPESEAT 2024

The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies Engineering Aptitude Test (UPESEAT) is conducted by UPES for undergraduate engineering programs. While the phase 1 deadline has passed, the application date for phase 2 has been extended to April 26, 2024. Candidates must have achieved a minimum of 50% in their 10+2 from the PCM/B stream.

HITSEEE 2024

The Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science Engineering Entrance Examination (HITSEEE) registration deadline is April 29, 2024. Candidates must meet eligibility criteria, including a minimum average of 50% in physics, chemistry, and mathematics.

Additionally, Amity University Noida offers a full-time BTech course across various specializations. The admission process is merit-based, with a personal interview (PI) round. Eligibility criteria include obtaining an aggregate of 60% (55% for sponsored category students) in Class 12 with PCM/PCB.

As candidates explore these alternative avenues, they open doors to diverse opportunities in the field of engineering, ensuring a pathway to pursue their academic and professional aspirations beyond traditional channels.
