Board introduces a revised post-result process requiring students to first obtain scanned answer sheets before applying for re-evaluation, with applications opening from May 21 for Class 10 students.
Following the declaration of CBSE Class 10 and 12 results on May 13, 2025, students who are not satisfied with their marks now have the opportunity to apply for rechecking through a more streamlined and transparent process introduced by the board.
This year, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has revised its post-result protocol, making it mandatory for students to first obtain a scanned copy of their evaluated answer sheet before applying for re-evaluation.
The aim is to allow students to identify specific errors before requesting any corrections.
“CBSE is giving an opportunity to the students to look at their answer books and inform the mistake so that the same can be rectified (if need be),” the board said.
Class 10 students can begin applying for scanned copies from May 21, while Class 12 students can do so from May 27.
The fee for obtaining a photocopy is ₹700 per subject. Once students receive the scanned copies, they can move forward with the verification of marks.
This verification process will begin on May 28 for Class 10 and June 3 for Class 12, with a fee of ₹500 per subject.
For those seeking a deeper review, CBSE allows re-evaluation of up to 10 answers per subject, at a cost of ₹100 per question. However, this option is available only after obtaining the scanned copy.
Improvement exams are scheduled for July 2025 and will follow the same syllabus as the main board examinations.
Students should also note that if there is any change in marks — whether an increase or decrease — they must return their original marksheet, which will be replaced with a revised one.
Applications and updates can be accessed through the official CBSE portal.
