The initiative provides 24-hour helpline access, tele-counseling with trained experts, and online resources to help students manage stress, plan studies effectively, and maintain emotional well-being during board exams.

The Central Board of Secondary Education has started its annual psycho-social support program to assist students preparing for Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations, providing guidance on managing stress and emotional well-being.
The first phase of counselling began on Jan 6 and will continue until June 1, 2026, covering the entire exam period. CBSE theory exams are scheduled to start on Feb 17, 2026, and the initiative is intended to run alongside students’ preparation.

A 24-hour toll-free Interactive Voice Response System helpline at 1800-11-8004 has been set up, offering support in both Hindi and English.
Students can receive advice on stress management, time management, common exam-related queries, and essential CBSE contact information.
Tele-counseling is also available on working days from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, connecting students and parents with 73 trained experts, including school principals, counselors, special educators, and professional psychologists.

Out of these, 61 are based in India, while 12 provide assistance from abroad in countries such as Nepal, Japan, Qatar, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates. All services are voluntary.
In addition, CBSE has uploaded digital resources on its official website, offering tips on stress handling, study planning, and maintaining mental balance during the examination period. The content is designed to be simple and easily accessible for students.
The board has urged students and parents to make regular use of these counselling services as part of its efforts to support psycho-social health during the Class 10 and 12 board examinations.
