The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) today declared HS result 2024. The Assam board HS scorecards will be made live at the official AHSEC website — ahsec.assam.gov.in.
This year, the Assam HS exams were conducted from February 12 to March 13. As many as 2,80,216 students (1,37,484 male candidates and 1,42,732 female candidates) across 876 centers registered themselves for the HSC examination in 2024.
A total of 273908 students appeared for the HS exam of which 242794 students have passed. The Assam board requires students to score a minimum of 30 per cent marks in a subject and in aggregate to get passed certificate.
This year, pass percentage in arts is 88.24 per cent while in science stream, it is 90.29 per cent. The pass percentage in commerce and vocational stream is 88.28 percent and 85.78 per cent respectively. Students will have to collect the original Assam board HS mark sheet from school authorities later.
For now, students will get a provisional mark sheet which they use as a reference for college admission purposes.
Last year over 3.4 lakh registered for the exam and girls outperformed boys across all streams. In 2023, the overall pass percentage for the Arts stream was 70.12 per cent, commerce stood at 79.57 per cent, science students achieved 84.96 per cent and the vocational stream secured at 85.61 per cent.
Assam education minister Ranoj Pegu took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to congratulate on the result saying, "Congratulations! 88.64% students have passed. Arts (88.24%) Sc (90.29%) Com (88.28%) Voc (85.78%).
