The new postgraduate diploma aims to build policy and leadership capabilities among mid-career professionals through a one-year program combining public policy, technology, sustainability, strategy, and practical simulations.

IIM Mumbai has introduced a new postgraduate diploma in public policy management, created jointly with the Department of Personnel and Training and supported by Talentsprint, part of Accenture.
The one-year, 45-credit program is designed for mid-career professionals in government, corporate roles, and the social sector.

The institute said the curriculum combines public policy, sustainability, technology, strategy, and leadership with simulations, applied assignments, and peer-based learning to help participants evaluate policymaking and administrative challenges.
The program will admit DoPT-sponsored officers as well as external applicants, a model the institute believes will foster a diverse classroom and allow broader professional exchange.
Applications have opened for the February 2026 batch. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks or an equivalent CGPA, along with a minimum of five years of work experience.

Selection will be based on the IIM Mumbai Admission Test or a valid CAT, GMAT, or GRE score from the past five years, followed by a personal interview. The deadline to apply is Dec 20.
The collaboration with DoPT is part of the institute’s ongoing work in capacity-building for government departments and public sector professionals.
An official statement said the PGDPPM is intended to expand management and policy education for those working in administrative and governance roles across India.
