Free competitive exam coaching launched for 2,200 Delhi govt school students

The Delhi government has introduced a comprehensive coaching program for 2,200 top-performing students from government schools, offering free guidance for competitive exams such as JEE, NEET, CLAT, CA, and CUET.

The initiative is part of the Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya Vidya Shakti Mission and was formally announced by Education Minister Ashish Sood.

The scheme, which was first highlighted in the state’s annual budget, has been allocated ₹21 crore and is designed to make high-quality exam preparation accessible to government school students while emphasizing inclusivity and merit.

The government said the program also aims to support students’ emotional well-being and build future-ready schools in the capital.

Under the initiative, JEE, NEET, CLAT, and CA Foundation courses will each reserve 50 seats for girls. CUET-UG, the largest component, will provide 1,000 seats, including 150 reserved for female students.

Coaching will be delivered through institutions such as Aakash Institute, Narayana Academy, KD Campus, and Ravindra Institute.

Students will receive classroom instruction, live online sessions, study materials, and test-preparation support after school and on weekends to ensure regular academic schedules are maintained.

An official statement said the Vidya Shakti Mission is designed to empower students both academically and emotionally, creating safe and supportive learning environments.

The program also focuses on fostering confidence, mental wellness, and dignity among young learners.

Describing the initiative as a significant step in public education, Sood noted that 62,000 students appeared for CET-2025 on Oct 30, with physical classes for the first batch beginning on Nov 26.

“Education is not just about marks; it is about mental wellness, dignity, and humanity,” he said.

Sood added that the government is introducing AI-enabled classrooms and human-centered education methods to ensure equitable learning opportunities for all children.

He called the Vidya Shakti Mission a movement to “empower talent, protect mental wellness, and unlock Delhi's academic potential at the grassroots.”
