77-Foot Ram Statue Unveiled at Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math (Goa)

A monumental 77-foot bronze statue of Lord Ram was unveiled at the historic Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math in Goa, marking a significant cultural and spiritual milestone. The inauguration also included the opening of a Ramayana-themed park and a memorial dedicated to the Math’s long-standing religious legacy. The statue, crafted to reflect the ideals of valour, virtue, and dharma, is positioned to become a major spiritual landmark in the coastal state. The Ramayana-themed park showcases important episodes from the epic through sculptures, murals, and interactive exhibits, making it an attractive site for devotees, students, and cultural enthusiasts. The event attracted religious leaders, devotees, and tourists, highlighting the symbolic place of Lord Ram in Indian spiritual traditions.
The unveiling holds significant cultural and social value. First, it boosts pilgrimage tourism in the Konkan region, adding to the spiritual circuit that includes Gokarna, Goa, and surrounding areas. Such initiatives can revitalise local economies by increasing footfall, generating employment, and promoting local crafts and allied services.

Second, it strengthens heritage awareness by preserving and presenting one of India’s most revered epics—the Ramayana—in an accessible and engaging format. The park acts as an educational space where traditional stories are brought to life for younger generations, reinforcing cultural continuity.
Finally, the statue symbolizes unity and devotion, resonating with communities across linguistic and regional lines. By merging faith, art, and heritage conservation, the project contributes to a broader national movement celebrating India’s civilizational legacy.
